With the “Letter Announcement” service, users of GMX and Web.de have been able to be informed by e-mail for some time now when a letter arrives in their mailbox at home. The service can now be used by anyone free of charge. The only requirement: the Post & DHL app on the smartphone and the service must be activated.
In addition, users receive a digital photo of the envelope so that they can see at a glance which letter will soon be arriving at home.
The new Deutsche Post service is firmly integrated into the Post & DHL app (from version 8) for Android & iOS.
Because stamps have become more expensive: the Post & DHL app has been even more important since January 1st
As of January 1, 2022, DHL increased the postage for letters and postcards. Sending a standard domestic letter will cost 85 cents in the new year, five cents more than before. Other letter products were also five cents more expensive, such as the maxi letter. The company justified this with higher costs and the increased inflation rate.
Since January 1st, many consumers have been faced with the problem of getting rid of their stocks of stamps. If you don’t want to under- or over-franchise your mail in the future, you will need so-called supplementary stamps.
