- The A post stamp now costs CHF 10 and the B post stamp costs CHF 90.
- At the same time, there are new supplementary stamps to buy with a value of 5, 10 and 20 centimes so that the old stamps can still be used.

The Post spokeswoman said that the new postage stamps could already be ordered at home since December 13th. Around a million of the so-called supplementary stamps worth 5, 10 and 20 cents have been ordered online. The respective values of the postage stamp are shown graphically on these. According to the Post spokeswoman, 1.5 million of the new A and B postage stamps have been ordered so far.

First letter price increase in 18 years
The Post spokeswoman said that anyone who still had insufficient postage on their letter in January should turn a blind eye to them. From February, however, the missing value will be collected.

As the Post announced in August, this is the first letter price increase in 18 years, which will apply from January 1, 2022. The Post had agreed on this with the price watchdog. In addition, Swiss Post undertakes to offer price advantages for private customers and SMEs.
The price increase is intended to ensure that in the future letters can be delivered in all regions at the same price, said Post CEO Roberto Cirillo in an upheaval in front of the media. The prices for the packages, however, remain unchanged.
