Lexibook: very solid exercise – 06/20/2022 at 09:11

(AOF) – Lexibook has published strong annual results. The manufacturer of electronic leisure products made a net profit for 2021/2022 (financial year ended at the end of March) up 137.9% to 3.745 million euros. Ebitda climbed 75.7% to 5.426 million. Operating profit increased by 94% to 4.337 million. This favorable development is mainly due to the increase in the volume of activity, in the improvement in the volume of net margin restated for the exchange rate and in the control of expenses, indicates the company.

Over the financial year, turnover amounted to 45.2 million, up 65.4%, a historically high level of turnover for the group.

France represents 36% of turnover and is up 53%. International is driving growth, with rapid growth in particular in Germany, Spain, the United Kingdom, Scandinavia and Eastern Europe.

In the USA, the group is also progressing, and benefits from significant growth potential. Overall, international sales increased by 73%.

In terms of products, growth is widespread across all of the most profitable segments. Sales of tablets now represent less than 2% of turnover for the year. Sales growth was spectacular in toys, with the success of the Powerman range of robots, Crosslander radio-controlled vehicles, as well as educational products and electronic games. Alarm clocks, audio and musical products are also particularly popular.

Licensed products also contributed to this growth, both on very dynamic existing licenses like Frozen, Paw Patrol, Spiderman and on new licenses like Super Mario, Miraculous, and Harry Potter.

Finally, the digitalization of the group is bearing fruit: digital sales are growing very strongly both in France and on the various European markets, in particular thanks to a massive digital marketing campaign on a European scale on the group’s new products.

After a third year of sustained growth, the group intends to continue on a positive trend and is concentrating its efforts on accelerating sales in e-commerce and specialized distribution.

Consumption remains sustained for Lexibook products. The group anticipates double-digit revenue growth in the first half of 2022-23 despite a high base effect and a dynamic 2022-23 financial year, in the wake of that of 2021-22.

The Middle East ESC

Still relatively unknown compared to the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the Gitex (Gulf Information Technology Exhibition) in Dubai has existed since 1981 and attracts around 100,000 visitors a year. Even if it wants to compete with the CES in Las Vegas, and the region is a very tech-savvy market, the Gitex remains, despite its internationalization, still a regional hub for technology. The CES makes it possible to cover the United States, North America and Europe at the same time, while the Gitex rather covers the Middle East, Africa and South Asia. In 2021 this event took place at the same time as the Universal Exhibition in Dubai. France was the second most represented country, behind Italy.
