BeGenius is very far from having made a sensational entry into the Div 2 of the LFL. The organization, relatively unknown to the League of Legends competitive scene, had a whirlwind stint on the Underdogs scene in 2017, but its sudden return for the 2022 Season came as a big surprise to many. That said, after only two days of competition, the results are far from good. Obliterated 12-0 by IZI Dream on the first day, and this via a perfect game in which they could not secure any objective, then spanked again by MCES the next day, this time securing 2 kills against 15, the BeGenius are just recovering from a difficult week.
In the aftermath of this frankly disappointing start in Div 2, the organization decided to make changes to its roster not only by exchanging positions Antonin “Bliio” As much and Reuben “Kido” Gruber, but above all by ending his collaboration with Matthieu “Norwegian” Savage. The French jungler would no longer play in Division 2.
A decision criticized
Replacing a player after just two games may seem extremely arbitrary, and the French community hastened to step up to denounce a decision deemed unfair. In response, BzhTheo, manager of the team originally recruited by GameWard before joining BeGenius, spoke in a Twitter thread, explaining that the change in organization also resulted in a change “vision and initial membership goals.“
