beGenius is back on League of Legends, and will take a Div.2 slot for the 2022 season. Riot France has also announced the schedule for the start of the competition.

LFL Div. 2 will soon begin its 2022 League of Legends season, and a new change was announced earlier this year: the slot of GameWard Academy is bought by the Montpellier structure beGenius. A return to the game for the French team founded in 2012, formerly webSPELL Gaming, and which left the Faille in 2018.

A logical decision for GameWard, who, like Solary, will no longer be able to have an academic structure in Div. 2 while having a team in LFL, from 2023 according to the new regulations. In prevention, GW therefore preferred to sell its slot to the highest bidder for this season. beGenius already has semi-pro teams on several games such as FIFA, Fortnite or Rocket League.

the roster will be announced soon and in the meantime, the team announces big ambitions for the season:

Ten years after the creation of the club, it is with pride that we enter a new stage in our history by arriving in Division 2 of League of Legends. Following the restructuring of beGenius in 2018, Returning to this esport scene at a high national level has always been one of the team’s major objectives.

The start of Div. 2 will be given January 17th, one week after the start of the LFL. The schedule for the start of the 2022 competition has also been unveiled by Riot France. We will therefore find the newcomers there: Lille Esport, replacing Solary, JobLife, the JL team which takes the MCES slot, as well as the promoted PCS Taran.
