LG could rely on the sound of televisions to improve the immersion of its soundbars thanks to WOW Orchestra technology.
In January 2020, on the occasion of the presentation of its sound bars and televisions during the CES in Las Vegas, Samsung unveiled its Q Symphony functionality. Put simply, this function, always present on the televisions and bars of the Q range of the firm, makes it possible to take advantage of the speakers integrated into the television to extend the sound produced by the sound bar.
It also seems that Samsung inspired its main competitor, LG. As the AVCesar site reports, LG has registered a trademark called “WOW Orchestra” with the USPTO, the American office in charge of patents and trademarks. In detail, the USPTO’s document for the WOW Orchestra trademark relates to televisions, soundbars, software and speakers aimed at “allow a TV and a soundbar to play sound at the same time“. If we still ignore the technical details of WOW Orchestra, the system as it is described is therefore reminiscent of Samsung’s Q Symphony.
Brighter TVs expected at CES
Above all, the registration of this mark by the USPTO is timely, in the middle of December. Remember that it is generally at the beginning of the year that manufacturers unveil their main innovations, particularly in the field of sound bars and televisions. CES 2023 is fast approaching, with an organization scheduled for January 5 to 8. It could be on this occasion that LG will present its first devices compatible with WOW Orchestra, whether it is its new high-end televisions or its sound bars. We are particularly expecting the presentation of the new LG G3 range, replacing the LG G2. These new televisions should offer a peak light 20% higher than the current range thanks to the arrival of Oled MLA technology.
We should know more about LG’s new products during the official presentation of the Korean manufacturer in Las Vegas. This will take place on January 4th.
