LG announced new OLED televisions at CES 2022. These should score with a higher brightness and have a new image processor. There should also be a variant with a 97 inch diagonal, whereby LG is still keeping a low profile in one important area.
LG: New OLED TVs presented at CES 2022
As part of the electronics trade fair CES 2022, LG has a number of them new OLED TV for the current year announced. Models with mini-LED backlighting were also shown. As a highlight, LG speaks of a new OLED Evo panel, which should have better overall brightness values, which can be increased again using the “Brightness Booster”. In addition, there is an updated image processor with the fifth generation of the Alpha-9 chip (source: LG).
LG’s G2 series, which was previously available in 55, 65 and 75 inches, is being expanded by two sizes. In 2022, interested parties can also apply for a Variant with 83 or 97 inches decide. According to LG, this is the first OLED TV of this size to use the new TV technology.
With the C2 series, LG is going the opposite way and will soon be offering too a smaller model on, which comes to a diagonal of 42 inches. Existing variants offer 48, 55, 65, 77 and 83 inches. According to LG, the new OLED TV with 4K resolution should also be a good gaming monitor.
LG has not yet commented on the prices or availability of the new OLED models.

New LG TVs with webOS 22
In the upcoming OLED TVs from LG, webOS 22 will be the latest version of the operating system. The successor version of webOS 6 changes its nomenclature and now reflects the year of publication of the OS version. One of the new features is user administration Profiles for family membersin order to be able to receive individual TV recommendations. If several televisions with webOS 22 are in use in the same WLAN, the image can be mirrored from one TV to the other. Gamers receive more individual settings in the game optimizer, for example for VRR. Support for the game streaming services Nvidia Geforce Now and Google Stadia is also on board.
