LG unveils its “MyView”, a new intelligent, large format… and 4K monitor

Ahead of CES, LG presents us with the outline of its “MyView”, a 4K monitor designed for office automation, multimedia… and especially streaming with the integration of the WebOS operating system.

LG is not waiting. A few days before the opening of CES 2024 (and while the new LG Gram have, for example, already been announced), the Korean manufacturer presents us with a new IPS monitor. Called “MyView”, and available in three variants (depending on the options chosen), the latter benefits first of all from an Ultra HD definition and a generous diagonal of 31.5 inches (in 16:9). Since compromises have to be made somewhere, this new screen has the disadvantage of being limited to a 60 Hz display frequency and a 5 ms response time, which makes it a product intended primarily for multimedia and bureautics.

A positioning also confirmed by its “intelligent” approach. Understand by this that like LG televisions, the MyView works under WebOS to allow the download of the main streaming applications. A remote control is also available, whatever the model chosen, to navigate this interface.

Four colors to choose from to suit your interior

As mentioned above, the LG MyView is available in three versions: SR85U, 32SR83U and 32SR70U. All have a 31.5-inch 4K (3840 by 2160 pixels) IPS panel, but the 32SR70U is limited to a maximum luminance of 350 cd/m2, compared to 400 cd/m2 for the others. On the other hand, we find in all cases support for the HDR10 standard and 95% coverage of the DCI-P3 spectrum.

The 32SR85U and 32SR83U come with an adjustable circular cutout stand, while the 32SR70U sits on a low base, for a compact and sleek look », Explains LG in its press release. We also learn that the 32SR85U model can be equipped with a removable Full HD webcam. We will also find a charging power of 90 W in USB-C (compared to 65 and 45 W respectively for the other two versions). The three versions of the LG MyView are otherwise available in four colors (Essence White, Mild Beige, Cotton Pink and Cotton Green), feature two speakers and are AirPlay2 and ScreenShare compatible.

For the moment, LG is not indicating a price or launch date; we will surely have to wait for the start of CES to have access to this information.
