Following in the footsteps of Samsung and Apple, LG is preparing to launch its own fitness platform. It will take place on the televisions brand’s connected devices by pairing them with a variety of new companion devices.

Scheduled for September, the Fitness Candy application plans to put you in the sport in front of your television.

Subscription access

LG Electronics intends to transform its televisions into real fitness coaches, and more. The Korean manufacturer has in fact partnered with SM Entertainment, a well-known company in the world of K-Pop, to offer users a “ comprehensive lifestyle platform, with related content, services and products to help people meet their health and fitness needs at home “.

The content offered on Fitness Candy would therefore be varied. The application will first offer targeted training programs in several categories, but also dance or meditation exercises. It would act as a real platform centered around health, also bringing together content that encourages healthy eating and fitness through programs and other documentaries.

Access to the Fitness Candy application will be via a subscription on the brand’s televisions and on smartphones, which could cost up to €20 per month. The geographic availability of the application is not entirely clear at the moment, but we should learn more in the coming weeks.

Any upcoming companion devices?

After the withdrawal of LG Electronics from the mobile phone (and photovoltaic) sector, the manufacturer sees great potential in the home healthcare sector, stimulated by the pandemic and the measures that have resulted from it. The Korean mentioned in particular, during his press conference, the forthcoming launch of a ” variety of new devices that can be linked to the app “.

Quite logically, a camera should see the light of day with the objective of ” offer individual coaching sessions and participate in live lessons and exercises “. But that’s not all: LG intends to use the technologies it develops in other areas to give birth to new products such as ” muscle-building machines, exercise bikes and smart bracelets “.
