Lhyfe: electricity purchase contract with EDP Renewables

(CercleFinance.com) – Lhyfe announces the signing of a long-term contract with EDP Renewables relating to the supply of renewable electricity (Corporate Power Purchase Agreement or CPPA) over 15 years.

Under this contract, Lhyfe will purchase renewable energy produced by a 39 MWac (55 MWdc) solar power plant to be built in Germany by EDPR, through Kronos Solar EDPR, and which is expected to be connected to the grid in 2025.

This electricity purchase contract is the first realization of the industrial partnership signed in 2022 between the two companies.

The partners agreed that EDPR would supply renewable electricity for Lhyfe’s hydrogen production sites, and that the two companies would identify opportunities to co-develop projects aimed at decarbonizing industries where electrification is not feasible.
