The new title of the studio neowiz keep talking about him. This action-RPG inspired by Fromsoftware’s creations managed to arouse the interest of the public even before its release. On the one hand thanks to the souls-like recipe which continues to generate new licenses, on the other hand thanks to the main theme of the game: the tale of Pinocchio. All sprinkled with an artistic direction steampunk. An aesthetic that could recall that of Steelrisingreleased this month and based on a similar game system.
Lies of P also features a crafting system which highlights the fact of combining several weapons together in order to personalize the combat experience. But all these elements were already known since gamescom 2022, the rest of the content is revealed by these 40 minutes of gameplay published by the studio.
In particular, there is question of another mechanic, so to speak, specific to Pinocchio, the interchangeable limbs. Taking up the theme of the puppet, your character can be equipped, for example, with different types of arms, each influencing the gameplay of the game in its own way. We can for example see Pinocchio electrocute enemy automatons or even use a grappling hook built into his arm.
We are also rewarded with two real boss fights in their entirety. We also know that the character of Pinocchio will be exploited for narrative possibilities, playing on the theme of lying. Telling the truth or hiding it could affect the rest of the scenario.
We don’t have a release date for Lies of P yet, other than a 2023 wave, on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series.
