In the border area of Tyrol and Bavaria near Erl, a German hiker (61) was killed on Saturday. The woman was with her partner (56) on the way to a hut when she fell 200 meters into a gully.
At around 2.30 p.m., the 61-year-old hiked in the company of her 56-year-old partner in the Chiemgau Alps on the German side in the direction of a cooperative alpine hut, where they had leased a hut. 200 meters crashed 200 meters down a 35-degree gully and stayed above the Unterwiesenalm in the municipality of Erl. The woman’s companion sounded the alarm. The crashed woman died at the scene of the accident despite being resuscitated. Her body was flown to Erl by the crew of the police helicopter, the escort was looked after by the crisis intervention team.
