The very light E-Getaway from Stevens shows neither the motor nor the battery. Nevertheless, you can always be sure of the power of the hidden drive.

Light e-bikes like the Flyer Upstreet SL or the Canyon Roadlite:ON CF 9 LTD will be trendy in 2024. It’s hardly surprising that Stevens also takes this approach. And how! According to the manufacturer, the electric gravel bike E-Getaway weighs only 12.9 kilograms – a very good value for an e-bike. Only expensive Pedelecs are lighter and break the 10 kilogram mark.

E-bike innovations of the year

E-bike innovations of the year

At first glance, the 2024 innovation looks almost like a normal racing bike or gravel bike. The TQ-HPR50 Lite Assist drive in the middle of the frame is barely recognizable as an electric motor. Nevertheless, it supports your pedaling movements with a maximum torque of 50 Newton meters up to a speed of 25 km/h.

The battery, which is built into the frame, is just as difficult to see. It offers a capacity of 360 watt hours, which is less than typical e-bike batteries. If you are worried about a lack of range, you can improve it with the help of a range extender. The additional bottle-shaped battery provides additional kilometers and 160 watt hours of energy.

As befits a gravel bike, the lightweight carbon frame has numerous holes for attaching equipment or luggage. Shifting is done using a GRX 822/820 1×12-speed groupset from Shimano, braking is done using hydraulic disc brakes.

Price and availability

The E-Getaway from Stevens is available in four frame sizes and one color at a price of 6,399 euros. You can find all technical data here on the manufacturer’s website. We will introduce you to other e-bike innovations of the year in detail here.
