Like a Dragon: Ishin! is as a reminder an old part of the franchise Yakuza, which will finally be remastered and released worldwide. The adventure takes place in 1867, alongside Sakamoto Ryomaan ancestor of Kazuma Kiryu who will start a revolution. But he will not be alone in this quest.
Players will come across six special guests throughout the adventure, and SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio today reveal two of them, to say the least surprising. We will thus find in Like a Dragon: Ishin! the wrestler Kenny Omega and actor Rahul Kohli (iZombie), which will be in the game in the form of soldier cards. These will grant Ryoma temporary bonuses during fights, to be activated in real time and improved throughout the game. Here are the abilities offered by these two characters:
- Kenny Omega: Essence of the One-Winged Angel :
A mighty warrior who has traveled through time, space, and reality to serve the Shinsen-gumi. His extraordinary gifts would allow him to summon even the stars.
Skill : Slashes enemies with the slashes of its wing.
- Rahul Kohli: Firestorm Essence :
A chivalrous protector who has traveled through time, space, and reality to serve the Shinsen-gumi. He relies on his experience in the police to make peace reign.
Skill : Inflames enemies with the fiery embers of his righteous anger.

I’ve been a fan of the Like a Dragon series for years, and for me to be immortalized forever in Like a Dragon: Ishin, the latest game in this legendary series, is surreal. I’m crazy about my soldier card, and I think players will love the look of it and the attack animation… not to mention the damage I can inflict on enemies!

As an absolute fan of Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s games, I was honored to be invited among the soldier maps of Like a Dragon: Ishin! My attachment to the story of Like a Dragon is very deep, so I’m nervous and eager to take on this role and to take part, modestly, in the adventure of Ryoma. It’s pretty awesome to see the close connection that SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have with their fan base today represented in these cards. I am immensely honored, not only to be part of this community, but also of the series.

Creating the soldier cards for Kenny and Rahul, two fans of the Like a Dragon series, was a very pleasant and particularly rewarding experience. We worked with them individually to create their unique and personalized card, asking them to let their creativity run free. We loved the result, and I think the players will love it too.
The studios will reveal the next guests in the coming days, which will be included in the game with free downloadable content from early access, four days before the official launch. The release date of Like a Dragon: Ishin! is as a reminder set for February 21, 2023 on PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, with Japanese-only voiceover.
