At the dawn of her 48th birthday, the journalistArte specifies the sad reason for this announcement. “Dear Arte Journal viewers, I have been away from the air for some time. Like one in eight women in France, I have breast cancer. ‘A nice one’ say the doctors, so see you very soon! [On se revoit bientôt, NDLR.]”, she informs soberly, also wanting to be reassuring. An announcement which comes on the eve of its birthday, but also in the middle of October which, through the campaign Pink October, is dedicated in particular to raising awareness among women about breast cancer screening. It is therefore with the hashtag “#octoberrose” that Marie Labory concluded her message. Breast cancer, which actually affects one in eight women, is, when caught in the early stages of the disease, cured in 80 or even 90% of cases, according to the National Cancer Institute.
