Linda Evangelista has long been considered one of the most beautiful women in the world. But due to botched beauty procedures, she had withdrawn from the public for five years. Now she is celebrating her model comeback, but finds honest words about her physical and mental condition.

Linda Evangelista, 57, was one of the absolute top models in the 90s. After a very successful career, things suddenly went quiet for the native Canadian for a long time, and she withdrew for five years. And there was a reason: A botched CoolSculpting treatment left her completely disfigured, in her opinion. In September 2021, she made her tale of woe public on Instagram, taking the first step back into the public eye. With success: This month, the former top model adorns the September cover of British “Vogue”.

Linda Evangelista is making a big model comeback

The 57-year-old is still struggling with the unsuccessful beauty procedure. Evangelista suffered a rare reaction to the CoolSculpting, which did not shrink her fat cells but instead caused them to enlarge. Since then she has had two liposuctions and has fallen into a deep depression.

But that should be the end of it now! The model tries to fight her way back to life and wants to continue living without “shame”. A first step was the shoot for “People” in February 2022, where she showed her “disfigured” body for the first time, followed by a campaign for Fendi and with the current “Vogue” cover she is fulfilling another dream.

In an interview with “Vogue” she reveals that it has always been her wish to be on the cover of the British magazine and now this dream will come true once again. She sees this as a great honor. Anyone who looks at the pictures is probably wondering why she is still struggling with her looks. Steven Meisel’s pictures look perfect, no wrinkles or skin irritation can be seen.

The “Vogue” shooting was optically helped

Speaking about the cover shoot, it’s important for Linda to be honest, and she reveals makeup artist Pat McGrath helped tape her jaw, neck and face with tape. “This isn’t what my jaw and neck look like in real life — and I can’t go around with duct tape and rubber bands everywhere.”explains the supermodel.

Of course, these flawless images are in stark contrast to her newfound desire to accept herself for who she is and gain newfound confidence. Linda Evangelista sees this dichotomy herself and explains: “You know what, I try to love myself for who I am but for the photos […] with photos I always think we are here to create fantasies”. For the pictures she just tries to create a fantasy that hides her insecurities, the process of self-love would continue at the same time.
