Lion Update – Peugeot 2008: Sharper and much better than Stromer

In the rearview mirror, the small SUV Peugeot 2008 should make a better impression in the future thanks to new lights. The E version also drives faster and further.

A good three and a half years after the market launch, Peugeot’s compact SUV model received a facelift in 2008. The distinguishing feature is a revised front section with a new radiator grille design. There is also a new brand logo and a new headlight graphic. The three-claw daytime running lights are no longer in the headlights, but under them. Inside, the digital equipment has been improved. The touchscreen for the infotainment system is now ten inches in all versions and offers HD quality in the GT and Allure equipment lines. The Peugeot has an optional inductive charging cradle (standard with the GT). The electric version e-2008 receives the update with a new motor that is also offered in other group brands. It delivers 115 kW/156 hp instead of the previous 100 kW/136 hp and is combined with a battery that has grown from 50 to 54 kWh. Because the new engine also consumes less, the range increases from 341 to over 400 kilometers. There are also two 1.2-liter petrol engines with 100 hp and 130 hp and a diesel with 130 hp to choose from. The base petrol is a manual switch, the more powerful units are combined with an 8-speed automatic. From the beginning of 2024, Peugeot wants to introduce a mild hybrid variant of the powerful petrol engine in combination with a six-speed dual-clutch transmission, which, thanks to e-support, is said to consume 15 percent less petrol. The 2008 currently starts at around 28,000 euros. With the facelift available in the summer, prices should rise slightly.
