Some formulas contain ingredients that can cause inflammation, making the skin on the lips sensitive and causing a rash. , which can easily be confused with drought. Result: you reapply the lip treatment while it dries them out. The dermatologist therefore advises against camphor and lanolin which can have the opposite effect and cause irritation.

What natural ingredients should you use to moisturize your lips?

In the evening, favor very thick textures like a butter or a mask and apply the treatment in a thick layer to repair them in depth when you wake up. If you don’t have this type of treatment, Dr. Colombo recommends simple ingredients found at home like honey or coconut oil which are anti-inflammatory and have soothing properties. She also suggests aloe vera, which helps with healing, as well as petroleum jelly, which is very hydrating.
