Live at the Gasometer – Metronomy: Pop comeback with the handbrake on

You have to be careful with the all-encompassing euphoria on these days. Yes, of course it’s nice that you can celebrate standing up in the Vienna Gasometer again. In view of the increasing corona numbers without sensible government communication, the security variant with a mask is not a bad variant, let alone the plan, but in order to really get back into the groove, both parties present have to practice a bit. In the case of yesterday’s performance by British 2010s indie darlings Metronomy, that means going a little less wooden and more casual. In the case of the approximately 1,500 fans present, that means presenting joy and cheering about the increasing pop comeback a little more enthusiastically. Not an easy thing in times like these, but together we can succeed.
