Lobbyist accusation against Zech: Another CSU deputy resigns

Accusation of lobbying against Zech
Another CSU MP resigns

The Union has a problem that may not go away. Again, the questionable business of a member of parliament is in focus. CSU politician Tobias Zech resigns from his Bundestag mandate and party offices because of possible "conflicts of interest". The resignation has nothing to do with the mask affair, it is said.

The CSU member of the Bundestag Tobias Zech resigns his mandate and his party offices because of possible "conflicts of interest". That said CSU General Secretary Markus Blume and thus confirmed corresponding reports from "Passauer Neue Presse" and "Münchner Merkur". The resignation has nothing to do with the current affair over corona protective masks. Rather, the background is allegations of having merged mandate and entrepreneurial activities.

"Tobias Zech has turned to the ethics committee of the CSU with the request to examine possible conflicts of interest. This examination is ongoing," said Blume. It is logical that Zech draws immediate consequences regardless of the outcome of this examination, in order to avert damage to the CSU. This is "the only correct step".

More on that shortly.
