Lockheed Martin: contract for 32 Black Hawks in the Philippines

(CercleFinance.com) – Lockheed Martin announces that its company PZL Mielec has signed a contract with the Philippine Department of National Defense (DND) for the manufacture of 32 S-70i Black Hawk utility helicopters for the Army of the Filipino air.

The delivery of the 32 aircraft is expected by 2026 and will ‘significantly’ increase the operational capability of the Philippine Air Force, both in the context of search and rescue missions and aid humanitarian or troop transport.

The manufacturer says each aircraft will feature a digital cockpit, color weather radar, an integrated vehicle condition monitoring system (IVHMS) as well as a 9,000-pound cargo hook ( 4,082 kg).
