Indeed, the main argument of this new Astro A50 For this purpose, the charging station is equipped with three HDMI ports: two inputs used to connect a console (Xbox, Playstation or Switch of your choice) and one output to connect the base to the television. These HDMI ports are accompanied by USB-C ports used for audio transmission for the PC, and for the microphone for consoles. Please note, the HDMI ports are compatible with the 2.1 standard and support 4K/120 Hz, VRR and ALLM streams.
By simply pressing a button on the headset, it is possible to juggle between sources: the audio and video tracks alternate seamlessly. Once the headset is returned to its base, the audio automatically returns to the TV speakers.
Beyond this new base, the Astro A50 X is also equipped with Logitech’s proprietary wireless communication protocol, Lightspeed. In addition to offering flawless stability, maximum range and 24-bit definition, this connectivity allows the Astro A50 through the Logitech app, such as an advanced equalizer and different microphone settings. For console gamers, Logitech provides an ersatz of its PC app on mobile (iOS and Android) in the form of the Logitech G app.
The Astro A50 X Lightspeed also benefits from Bluetooth connectivity. Bluetooth and Lightspeed can also work together to mix game sound and chat.

The 5th generation of the A50 headset features the new 40mm Pro-G graphene drivers introduced on the G Pro X 2 Lightspeed earlier this year. The headset should therefore offer performance very close to that of its G Pro counterpart.
Last new thing, and not the least, the Astro A50 X is the first headset from Logitech to integrate a microphone recording in 16 bits and 48 kHz. This wide bandwidth should result in a much clearer, crisper and more natural voice.
