And why a keyboard
should he necessarily confine himself to following the norm? Rare are the peripherals dedicated to office automation to break clearly with a banal and common design; yet this is what Logitech decided with its POP range, consisting of a keyboard with an unusual look and a mouse
already more classic, but “cute” and compact.

Far from the consensual keyboard, Logitech reinterprets the typewriter in its own way with its POP Keys keyboard, from the Logitech Studio series. It sports a look that is both retro and modern, with round keys mounted on mechanical switches signed TTC and a judicious choice of different colors for the keys, the base of the keyboard, and the plate on which the switches rest. The pictures speak for themselves.

Retro look, mechanical switches and interchangeable emoji keys

The goal of the POP Keys is not just to provide an appealing (albeit divisive) aesthetic and to bring “ character, joy and self-expression to any work routine but also to make no compromise on productivity. We first notice that we find a double screen printing on the special characters, with commands specific to Windows and macOS – an advantage for some, where this screen printing will seem overloaded and cumbersome to others.

There are also 12 new keyboard shortcuts with the FN key, and Snip Screen, Mute Mic and Media buttons. Four emoji keys are integrated into the keyboard, on the right. They are interchangeable using four other keys present in the keyboard box. Finally, the interest of mechanical switches, even if they are logically a little noisier, lies as much in the feeling when typing as in their lifespan, since they are guaranteed for 50 million activations. By associating this type of switches with round and hollow keys, Logitech wants to remind us how pleasant it could be to type on a Remington.

It should also be noted that if this was not the case with the brand’s latest products, the wireless keyboard does indeed come with the new Logi Bolt dongle. Like the MX Keys, the POP Keys allows the user to pair it with three different devices with the Easy-Switch function, via Bluetooth or via the dongle, and to switch between them via three separate buttons. Everything will be supported by the Logitech Options software, where we will benefit in particular from the “Flow” function with the brand’s mice, including the new POP Mouse.

Logitech POP Mouse: a very “cute” and compact mouse

Accompanied by the Logitech Desk Mat mouse pad, the POP Mouse takes up the colors of the keyboard in a minimalist and particularly compact design. Designed to be carried easily, its design is reminiscent of the Logitech Pebble, but the POP Mouse goes a little further by integrating the SmartWheel wheel which allows you to automatically switch from “high precision” mode to fast scrolling mode. The POP Mouse follows the main lines of the brand’s mice, with wireless operation via Bluetooth or the Logi Bolt dongle, an Easy-Switch function allowing it to be paired with three devices, or even with “Flow” via Logitech Options.

Regarding the autonomy of the keyboard as the mouse, Logitech does not deliver an exact figure, but promises a “long battery life”. If we are to believe our tests of the MX Keys and the MX Anywhere 3 mouse, autonomy should indeed not be a concern for users. The positive point here is also that the POP Mouse uses an AA battery for its power supply, easily accessible by removing the upper face of the mouse, held by three small magnets. The keyboard is powered by two AAA batteries.

Price and availability

POP Keys & Mouse are available today for €99 and €39.99 respectively. The Logitech Desk Mat mouse pad is already available for €19.99.
