Loire-Atlantique: a former doctor sentenced for sexual assault on several patients

Thursday evening, the Nantes court sentenced a former general practitioner who practiced in Derval, a town located in the north of Loire-Atlantique, to three years in prison, suspended, reports Ocean Press . Justice has also requested its registration in the automated judicial file of perpetrators of sexual or violent offenses (Fijais). In addition, he will have to compensate three victims. The total sum exceeds 7000 euros.

The health professional, now retired, was accused of sexual assault on five patients, including teenagers. If he was released for one fact, he was sentenced for inappropriate acts on four women. Among those mentioned during the two days of hearing, Wednesday and Thursday, the palpation of the breasts of a patient during a chest examination or the fact of having removed and put back the bra of the latter.

G-spot indication

The court accused the former practitioner of sexualizing his consultations. Among the examples cited, the fact of having indicated to patients where their G-spot was during vaginal examinations. “It’s a gesture, moved, sexist”said the president of the court in remarks relayed by the regional daily.

In his defense, the former doctor who now lives on the other side of the Atlantic, denied the facts attributed to him. He challenged the term of sexual aggressor whose justice accused him. If he admitted to having sometimes been “awkward” and “tactile“, he said during the debates that he had no intention of hurting or attacking his patients.

According to his lawyer, the former health professional is considering the possibility of appealing. For this, he has a period of ten days.
