LoL: A new canon cinematic for the Star Guardians event

The Star Guardians event started on July 14 in League of Legends and will end on August 22. A relatively long event that allows you to complete missions but also to progress in a story available through the client. If he did not know how to seduce all the players, Riot Games has not yet finished with it. To celebrate the release of the new theme skins with patch 12.14, the studio released a new cutscene featuring Akali.

Akali fighting against herself

The 12.14 patch implemented this week on the live servers has brought in its suitcases 6 new skins Star Guardian Quinn, Akali, Rell, and Taliyah, Prestige Star Guardian Syndra (the base skin was released in 2017), and Star Enemy Morgana. The perfect opportunity for Riot Games to highlight them via a new cinematic.

This new cinematic is centered around the character of Akali, in struggle with herself, who seeks not to be sucked into the “darkness” of the fallen Star Guardians. At the start of the video, the rebellious Assassin can browse social media — including photos of classmates and teammates — before bed. A monologue then begins, an inner struggle that made him doubt everything. She is then suddenly drawn into a dark dimension where she is thrown into a battle against a formidable adversary: herself.

The two Akali therefore engage in a fight and we will notice that Riot Games has been very attentive to detail. Find – among other things – the champion’s kunais but also the cloud of smoke from her W – Dark Shroud. At the end of the fight, as the “normal” Akali prevails, she is snatched up by dark forces presumably controlled by star-enemy Morgana. Before Akali is completely lost, Star Guardian Kai’Sa appears and extends her hand. Before her fate is decided, she reappears in her bedroom as she wakes up from her nightmare. As she jerks upright on her bed, she is quickly replaced by her corrupted self before the video ends.

As usual, Riot Games ensures the quality of the animation and the result is superb. We hope that this will be enough to revive the enthusiasm around the event.

The redesigns are going well on League of Legends, While the Rift will soon welcome the new Udyr, as well as a revamped Aurelion Sol, one of the employees of Riot Games confided on Reddit that Malphite will soon have the honors of the studio for a rework.
