As with the next MVG of champions, Riot Games recently submitted a vote to the League of Legends community allowing it to bring back a theme of skins in Summoner’s Rift. Players had the choice between possibilities: Infernal, Gothic or Purifiers. The goal was simple: give them more meaning and better represent their in-game identity.
The Gothic theme, largely in the lead
It is therefore an almost forgotten family of skins that will make a comeback in the Rift: that of the Gothics — which arrived largely in the poll tent. It must be said that there are currently only two appearances on the theme: one for Annie (October 2009) and one for Orianna (June 2011). As you will have understood, it has been more than a decade since any cosmetic bearing this style has been introduced in the game. Well, all that is about to change!
Granted, we had Vex, a true emo champ last year, but the theme meanwhile is no longer used for skins for a long time. We can therefore expect to see Gothic cosmetics appear very soon on the PBE. Nothing says that the studio does not plan to give a little shine to the two other families proposed in the survey.
Riot Games even reworked Annie’s recently and we hope (greatly) that Orianna will receive the same treatment very soon. It now remains to be seen which champions will have the favor of the studio to revive the theme from its ashes. Got some ideas here?
