Jensen: A timely opportunity?
Nicolaj”jensen” Jensen is a dinosaur on the League of Legends scene. At 27, he has had many adventures in North America, during which he notably won the title of North American champion twice with Team Liquid. Unfortunately for him, the experience ended badly: he was kicked out by the team following an incredible contest of circumstances, between roster swap and coming out of retirement. Released very late from his contract, the other LCS teams did not want to bet on him for the Spring Split. But for the summer, C9 would have decided to reach out to his ex. But don’t see this as a flower, it’s above all a big opportunity. In addition to being free, Jensen continued to train in the Champion Queue and his level of play is well established. It should also be added that he has enormous experience: he has represented the NA 7 times at words and made a final at MSI.
While Fudge should find his toplane, recruit jensen seems like a great idea. The player played for more than 3 years for Cloud9 in the past and there is a real relationship of trust between him and the structure. The Aussie hasn’t been ridiculous during his tenure at MID, but we tend to think that Jensen is still a cut above. The Dane can play just about anything and he’s played with Blaber before. The mid-jungle synergy will therefore not start from scratch!
Zven: a questionable move?
On the other hand, if Jensen looks like a golden opportunity, the case of Zven asks many more questions. He has not had a linear journey since the start of his career. Promising with Origen, brilliant with G2, his American adventure was much more chaotic. Frankly disappointing with TSM, he then signed with Cloud9 at the end of 2019. 3 years later, he is still there, but the Dane has alternated between good and bad. Sometimes in a state of grace, sometimes relegated to LCS Academy, his case remains very enigmatic. The player is reputed to work a lot on trust and for once, the leaders of C9 do not really help him with these incessant comings and goings… Lately, he does not even play anymore, since the position of the team 1 is locked out Berserker and that of team 2 was awarded to k1ng.
But Zven has more than one trick up his sleeve and he would have found yet another way to find the light: by changing position. In Champions Queue, where he is one of the most active players in the American super-server, he plays a lot in the Support position. This new vocation would not be innocent and he should find a starting position in the LCS for the summer, in the botlane but not as an ADC. The story is beautiful for the player and in the past a player like Huhi showed that changing roles could relaunch careers. On the other hand, for C9, we wonder if it’s really a good idea… The structure already had two Supports on hand (Winsome and Isles). The two were not faultless in the Spring Split, but at least we have already been able to gauge their level of play. We would also add that they have the advantage of being NA residents. They are young and with time they could have improved. For its part, we absolutely do not know what Zven is worth at the post of Support. To 24 years, difficult to know if he will be able to adapt and in addition, he is still considered an EU resident. The move therefore seems a little questionable to us, but we will have to wait for the result before judging.
