Although Yuumi only arrived in League of Legends in May 2019, the reality is that there was already someone fulfilling a role similar to Riot Games’ most well-known MOBA cat. And he’s not a champion, but a specific entity that is part of one of them. We are talking about Pix, the fairy who accompanies Lulu.
The reason we say this is obvious. In addition to being a character that lends a hand to the champion she is associated with, she inflicts damage on enemies, and can also move between them thanks to E – Pix to the rescue! by Lulu. However, unlike Yuumi, Pix cannot be hit or defeated in combat… Or so we all thought until we saw the video below.
You can kill Pix, but it’s not an easy task
Thanks to the video above, uploaded by the Hextech Lab channel, we can see that it is possible to defeat Pix. However, there are two conditions to fulfill in order to be able to put an end to the existence of this little fairy who accompanies Lulu: do it with Ahri, and do it very quickly. Another obligation, to be equipped with the Smite spell.
According to the author of the video, Pix can be targeted for a split second (i.e. you can touch her), but only if you finish off Lulu with Ahri. At that exact moment, it spawns in a random location around the dead champion. There is no concrete explanation for this, but everything suggests that it is due to the passive ability of the Nine-Tailed Fox. Or at least that’s what the creator of the video says.
After finishing off Lulu, she has a few tenths of a second to hit Pix before disappearing. Since basic attacks and abilities have a longer travel time than that, it becomes necessary to hit her instantly with a spell that is none other than the Smite.
What this tells us about Pix
More interesting than the fact that we can kill Pix, which is fun, is what we learn about this fairy. Until now, we could think that Pix was only a modeled element to launch or even embody Lulu’s abilities, as for Vex and his shadow. But the reality is quite different if we look at the details revealed in this video.
Pix has stats, which makes her similar to the game’s neutral minions, champions, and mobs. None of that matters, as she’s not intended to attack or take damage. But what’s relevant is that it vindicates those of us who think everything in League of Legends is a minion.
