LoL: Mordekaiser will receive a fantasy shop skin

Last March, Riot Games performed a fantasy content overhaul on League of Legends. Hextech skins have been forgotten to be replaced by a new theme: that of the Ashen Knights. To inaugurate this new family, it was Pyke who had been chosen, then followed by Pantheon.

If you like this theme, good news, since a new appearance will arrive very soon in Summoner’s Rift and it’s Mordekaiser, the Iron Revenant, who will receive it.

A skin that fits better with the theme

When Pantheon Ash Knight was revealed to the community, there was a lot of criticism. Many fans felt that it fell short of expectations and was too similar to the champion’s other skins. While some aspects of the new Pantheon skin were highly praised by the community, most complaints were about a drop in quality compared to the Ash Knight Pyke skin. This is largely due to the absence of the heavy armor that seemed to characterize this new theme. A situation which, if that were not enough, does not help him to easily differentiate himself from the Fallen cosmetic that the champion received last summer. In a somewhat exaggerated way, some players even spoke of a simple recoloration, a chroma in short.

The problem with this cosmetic was mainly the supposedly higher rarity of the Ashen Knight cosmetic line skins. These skins can only be purchased using Fantastic Essences which are difficult to obtain, and players expect higher quality skins than usual. The difference is certainly noticeable in the visual and sound effects, which are among the best in the game, but not in the character model.

With Mordekaiser Knight of Ashes, Riot Games should reconcile with the community. Since this is a champion with heavy armor, the studio is unlikely to screw up and respect the theme as best as possible.. Mordekaiser Ash Ravager will arrive with patch 12.23, scheduled for December 7th.

For a few years now, Riot Games has not released skins with a winter theme on League of Legends. Well, everything changes this year with a new family of cosmetics that should make more than one crack, that of the elected officials of winter.
