According to BloopGG (reporter for Dot Esports) on Twitter, the MSI 2022 would therefore be held in South Korea. The country has not hosted the first international tournament since 2018, when it was the World Championships. Last year – because of the COVID 19 pandemic – Riot Games had chosen to relocate the Worlds, which were initially to be held in China, in Iceland, a country which also hosted the MSI that same year.

As a reminder, the first team in the general classification at the end of the Spring Split 2021 obtains its qualification for the Mid Season Invitational and a total of 12 leagues are represented. The tournament is usually held at the beginning of May and lasts a little over 2 weeks and is divided into three phases: the groups, the Rumble and finally the Knockout.

We can expect an official announcement from Riot Games in the coming days.
