Patch 12.10 arrived this week on League of Legends, and the changes are more or less well accepted by the community. While some appreciate the help given to the durability of the game, others do not find their account and believe that the actions have perhaps become a little too long. There is, however, one change that many of you haven’t noticed — a rather significant change that impacts the most terrifying creature in Summoner’s Rift, the notorious Baron Nashor.
Although this is a small adjustment, players have been asking for it for a long time because it ends a mechanic considered unfair by some.
The Nashor will no longer be able to troll you
Although most gamers don’t know it, Baron Nashor increases his HP total every minute he spends in Summoner’s Rift. Thus, he appears with 12,600 life points and gains 180 every minute. Until now, this gain never stopped, even when the Baron took damage. This mechanic was particularly highlighted during MSI 2022 when the Nashor’s unexpected HP gain allowed Danny (EG) to steal the objective with a simple automatic attack from Jinx. As if that wasn’t enough, he also activated his champion’s passive and allowed him to get a Pentakill.
Riot Games therefore changed a Baron stat in its latest patch. Now, when the Nashor takes damage, it can no longer level up — and therefore gain HP. Previously, this happened every minute from when the target respawned. From now on, this will only happen if, in addition to this condition, he has not been in combat for the last 30 seconds.
A welcome little update that will allow junglers to stop messing up their smite (or not).
