LoL: Riot Games partners with HBO for the release of their new series House of the Dragon

To celebrate the release of the House of the Dragon series, the LCS and Riot Games are teaming up to bring brand new visuals to the LCS match streams. The Dragons of the Game of Thrones universe will therefore meet those of League of Legends.

League of Dragons

The principle is the same as for Mastercard for example, but the rendering should be much more stylish – a bit like for the Worlds where many visual elements are added in the Summoner’s Rift during the tournament.

“History doesn’t remember blood, it remembers names – sounds like the motto of an epic TV series, or the next LCS champion!

Prepare to call the banners and choose a side in the Targaryen Civil War as the LCS teams up with House of the Dragon, HBO’s new original series and Game of Thrones prequel. Starting July 23 (Week 5), the LCS stream will feature unique items and visuals that will coincide with the release of the House of the Dragon trailer, as well as a custom bond with each Dragon Soul secured.

Expect to see Targaryen Banners flanking the mid lane of Summoner’s Rift during House of the Dragon’s premiere weekend (August 20-21), the first weekend of the LCS Qualifiers. “

House of the Dragon, what is it about?

For simplicity, this is a Game of Thrones prequel that follows the origins of House Targaryenfrom its peak to its fall — from the novel “Fire & Blood” by George RR Martin. The action takes place 170 years before the time of Game of Thrones and tells the events which caused a civil war called The Dance of the Dragons – civil war which leads to the fall of the dragons but also of the House Targaryen.

In the cast we find in particular Matt Smith, English actor notably known for his role of the Doctor in the fantastic series Doctor Who (and we will pass over his participation in the detestable Morbius), or Olivia Cooke who played the role of Art3mis in the very successful Ready Player One by Steven Spielberg. House of the Dragon will premiere August 21, 20221 on HBO.
