sardoche is a key member of the French League of Legends community. Today, he plays and streams on a lot of games (Trackmania, Elden Ring…) and he regularly appears on shows like Pop-Corn. But his first real love in the Twitch Game is LoL. Renowned for its big mechanics and its easily identifiable champion pool (Cassiopeia, Vel’Koz, Zyra…), it has also distinguished itself in the past within French teams (IMG, Melty, Arma Team…) during of LANs.
left on April 27 in South Korea, he is still in the land of morning calm. Sardoche doesn’t just do that, but he obviously takes the opportunity to try the Korean soloQ, the dream of any European League of Legends player. Casually, he took his time (over two months) to land in the “high elo”. By way of comparison, his former teammate, the no less famous Kameto, had managed to reach this same level in less than 14 days. But you have to have the honesty to recognize that the conditions were very different and when you look in detail, his rush was almost equivalent, or even faster if you look at other criteria.
Sardoche, finally diamond!
The notion of “high rating” is quite vague on League of Legends. But by common agreement, we can recognize that Sardoche is now part of it in South Korea, now that he has gone diamond with his account “파파고v2“. At the time of writing this article, he is Diamond 4 with 46 points and belongs to the top 1.06% of the best players on the server. To achieve this performance, he remained true to himself by playing exclusively two champions:
- Cassiopeia with whom he won 64% of his games (52 wins and 29 losses)
- Vel’koz with whom he won 38% of his games (3 wins and 5 losses)
To be honest, his average KDA isn’t sky-high. But we all know Sardoche’s style of play. Always very aggressive, he does not hesitate to take initiatives and risks to create play and help his team, even if it means sacrificing himself in the equation. Not everyone is a fan and some find that he sometimes dies unnecessarily. But in any case, who can claim to have gone diamond on the Korean server?
Much slower, a little slower or faster than Kameto?
sardoche is not the only member of the European community to have visited South Korea recently. Several LEC teams conducted bootcamps in Korea during mid-season (BDS, EXCEL). Part of the Karmine Corp also made the trip and Kameto also played a lot of soloQ to grind the ladder. There was no real competition between the two former teammates of lamasticrewbut we couldn’t help but compare their rush.
- Looking at the number of days, big advantage for Kameto : Sardoche arrived in South Korea at the end of April. He therefore took much longer than Kameto to pass Diamant, given that he stayed there for a fortnight.
- Looking at the number of effective days, small advantage for Kameto : it should be noted, however, that Sardoche did not only play League of Legends. He took the time to vlog a lot and even tried hard to learn Korean for a while. Another detail should also be mentioned… Sardoche did a big leveling session to get to level 30, playing Trundle against bots. Casually, it takes time and energy. Kameto took more or less 13 days to pass Diamant, against more or less 16 days for Sardoche. The difference is therefore small.
- Looking at the number of games, Sardoche advantage : Roughly calculating, Kameto seems to have gone diamond in 122 ranked games. Sardoche for his part played 80 games to reach the Diamond. We can therefore say that it was more effective!
