The defeat of C9 (1st) against TSM (10th) could have upset the entire NA LCS ranking. NOTnevertheless Toucouille and his partners have decided otherwise, getting the better of Hans Sama and Team Liquid, current runners-up. All was not perfect for Flyquest, however, as they lost to Golden Guardians in their first match of the week. Luckily for Hans, he and his team had managed not to get trapped by the CLGs, allowing them to stay second, but only one win ahead of 100 T. Focus on the services of our expatriates during this week full of twists and turns.

Toucouille, evil lord of the Yordles
If the first part went badly, the fault is not to be rejected on Toucouille, nor on any member of the team. The Flyquests had managed to take a slight advantage at the start of the game, the French midlaner even taking three plates from the enemy tower before it fell. His Syndra was respected by their opponents, who did not hesitate to come and prevent him from establishing too much domination at the start of the game, while trying to free up space for their Ryze. It was during the regroupings that the difference was made, the Golden Guardians showing themselves to be superior. Could the Flyquests have played better? Without a shadow of a doubt. Did they play badly? No.
Against Team Liquid, the team showed a much different face. Toucouille’s Veigar was impressive, and if Johnsun collected the most kills while Kumo was the most present, the tricolor was the one who inflicted the most damage on opponents. They knew how to be patient, bending without breaking while the lead of their opponents exceeded 7000 golds, before managing to turn the situation around during a top fight made possible by Toucouille’s teleportation, allowing them to chain on a Nashor. A great demonstration of resilience, even if we will have to reproduce this next week to validate the ticket for the playoffs.
Hans sama, effective support
This week, Team Liquid comps didn’t revolve around Bwipo any more than they did the tricolor ADC.Hans still managed to hold his own with Zeri, especially against CLG. He sacrificed some damage for overall toughness, but managed to be present on 14 of the team’s 19 kills. With Shen as support, winning the early game against their opponents’ Lucian/Rakan was impossible, and he was able to bide his time during the regroupings. His stats are great considering he had to play without an assigned backstop, with CoreJJ having to pick the carry to peel depending on the situation.
Against Flyquest, the situation was similar, except that CoreJJ’s Taric could stay close to him more. It was also at one of the rare times when Team Liquid’s damage dealers moved away from their support that the Flyquests managed to get back into the game. Once again, the fault is collective here, because it is the general lack of vision which allowed the discreet teleportation of Toucouille, a role which falls to all the players of the team. Hans didn’t play particularly badly, but once the Flyquest roster regained dominance of the map, Team Liquid didn’t have the weapons to regain the upper hand unless mistakes were made by their opponents. The game shouldn’t have been lost, but it’s more an example of a game where the opponents are smarter and manage to exploit the only hole in the TL’s vision, than a gross individual or collective error. Fortunately the place in the playoffs is assured, but there is no doubt that the team will not be satisfied with the union minimum and that it will be necessary to count on them to confirm their status as a dominant team during the last week.
