LoL: Two mysterious teasers for Bel’Veth hidden in Kai’Sa’s biography

It has now been several weeks since Renata Glasc landed in League of Legends and players are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the 160th champion. Over the days, a lot of information has reached us. Though it was known to be a Nether jungler, it took a while to discover her real name, Bel’Veth, Empress of the Nether — a long-awaited creature-type champion by the community.

Today, the studio continues its teaser via its website Universe. If you don’t go there regularly, you may have missed this detail. The image of the Kai’Sa page has been modified and it shows the champion as intertwined with vines straight out of the Void… but not only.

Two hidden videos

If we look carefully at the new visual of the Daughter of the Void, we notice that there are two hidden clickable links that send us to unlisted Youtube videos (the location of the links are indicated on the image below). They are titled: Message to the Eye of Nothingness and Message to the Prophet of Nothingness. As you will have understood, this is Bel’Veth speaking to Vel’Koz and Malzahar.

In the first we can hear: “Eye of the Void your watchers cannot understand. I am the Void and I will rebuild all of Runeterra.” and in the second “Prophet, empress tom has arrived. Here is your reward: the end of time.”

Bel’Veth therefore communicates with beings from the Void – who seem to be her soldiers – and she has the ambition to conquer Runeterra. In that sense, his story seems somewhat similar to that of the Fallen King, with a major threat to the entire continent of League of Legends. In particular, we can see in one of the videos the city of Shurima struggling with the forces from the Void.

And Kai’Sa?

We remind you, she is the daughter of Kassadin—a daughter who was sacrificed to the Void by Malzahar. We can assume that she is the little girl that we see in the video concerning the champion.

“It was at this moment that Kassadin swore to avenge his wife and daughter; he would destroy this pernicious Prophet and the source of his occult power. He who had earned his living by tracing safe paths in the most dangerous places resolved to arm himself with the most powerful arcane and esoteric weapons in all of Valoran, weapons which he would combine through the ingenuity of the Zaunites and have blessed by spiritual healers of Ionia. […] Finally, he stole the infamous Ethereal Blade of Horok, the sword that had decimated thousands of traitors in the last days of the empire. He could feel the cold pull of oblivion on his edge, but he had no regard for his own humanity, and nothing of his old life to lose.

Disguised as a pilgrim, more than a decade after he last walked this desolate land, Kassadin traveled to Icathia. He would go where no man was supposed to go.

He would have his revenge, even if it meant killing him.”

Supposed dead, she grew up and lived in nothingness and had, like her father, to adapt to her environment by evolving. We can therefore assume that she will fight against Bel’Veth and his army and that she will be part of the event that will accompany the release of the 160th champion. All the Void characters may be there, like Rek’Sai, Cho’Gath or Kha’Zix.

Now we just have to wait to find out what Riot Games has in store for us — but we can legitimately expect a large-scale event on League of Legends in the coming weeks.

League of Legends is far from free of bugs and Riot Games usually does its best to fix them. But this time around, a visual glitch on Jhin’s Ultimate Cosmic Demiurge makes the game look even better…and we wish the studio would leave it.
