Long list of deficiencies – Completely desolate minibus withdrawn from service

The Vienna regional transport department pulled a completely desolate minibus out of service during a key action in Floridsdorf. The benches in the rear area had been removed, but there was a passenger sitting on the floor. In addition, the vehicle was full of household items that were unsecured inside. A child seat with a five-year-old boy in it was incorrectly fitted. There were also numerous defects such as broken lights, a defective handbrake and cracked dampers.

The car was stopped on Lundenburgergasse at around 8 p.m. on Friday. There were four people in the vehicle. A five-year-old child sat next to the driver. The boy’s child seat was only secured with a lap belt. During a braking maneuver, the seat and the child would have slipped through the belt. The third person on the front bench was a man. The second man was sitting in the back on the floor, next to him a huge amount of household items.

The driver must now expect reports, the registration certificate and the license plate were temporarily removed from her due to the serious technical deficiencies, the police reported on Sunday.

Almost 530 displays for “action hot”
During the focus action from late Friday afternoon throughout the city, 520 reports of speeding, four reports of driving without driving authorization, four reports of driving under alcohol and one report of driving under addictive substances were issued. Four license plates and two driver’s licenses were removed.
