The South Korean MMORPG Lost Ark has set a remarkable player record just under a month after its international release in Europe and North America: After a furious debut, it has now reached over 20 million players worldwide a spectacular milestone within a very short time be reached.
Lost Ark: International hit with over 20 million players
Publisher Amazon Game Studios and developer Smilegate RPG have announced in a press release that Lost Ark is almost a month after its release in North America and Europe has broken the mark of 20 million players worldwide. Within the first three days after the international release on February 11, 2022, the MMORPG had gained a whopping 4.7 million players.
While the MMORPG was released in South Korea back in 2019, there are currently more than 10 million users in Europe, North America, South America and Australia. Incidentally, with 1.3 million players, Lost Ark was able to secure second place in the Steam charts for the games with the most users logged in at the same time. The international release was worthwhile for the MMORPG without question.
Amazon’s MMORPG: Despite its success, it’s not flawless
Although player numbers have skyrocketed since February, Lost Ark still faces some complications. For example, the player rush in Europe has increased overcrowded servers and long waiting times. Because the transfer of characters to other servers is currently not possible, the problem cannot be solved easily.
