“Louis Boyard is a…”: Cyril Hanouna’s scathing reaction after the historic fine against C8

At the controls of a new number of Touche not at my post Thursday, February 9, 2023, Cyril Hanouna spoke unsurprisingly about the fine of 3.5 million euros that ARCOM imposed on C8, following to his violent clash against Louis Boyard.

Like every day since the beginning of the week, Cyril Hanouna presented a new live issue of Touche pas à mon poste Thursday, February 9, 2023 on C8. Accompanied by his faithful columnists, the host began his program by evoking the decision of ARCOM (ex-CSA) against his channel, which was made public a few hours earlier. Actually, the audiovisual policeman announced that he had inflicted a fine of 3.5 million euros at C8, following the clash between Cyril Hanouna and Louis Boyard, which took place on November 10, 2022 in Touche pas à mon poste. That day, the former columnist of Balance your post, who has become a deputy in the meantime, was the guest of the show.

Having not hesitated to criticize the owner of the Canal+ group, Vincent Bolloré, Louis Boyard had angered Cyril Hanouna. Very upset, the host then copiously insulted his guest on the air. Subsequently, the elected representative of La France Insoumise had decided to file a complaint for “public insult towards a person in charge of a public service mission“. In a statement detailing its decision, ARCOM has “consider that the guest had been explicitly prevented from expressing a critical point of view on set with regard to a shareholder of the Canal + group, to which the television service C8 belongs and that, consequently, the emission had not been carried out under conditions which guarantee the independence of information. These comments violated the guest’s rights, respect for his honor and his reputation. (…) This sequence reflected a lack of knowledge by the publisher of its obligation to control its antenna“.

Cyril Hanouna: “Now that we have taken a fine of 3.5 million, we will do low-budget happenings”

Cyril Hanouna therefore wanted to react to this decision by declaring, not without irony, that “Louis Boyard is a hero”. “We will not comment”, then added the host, who still could not help but address small tackles to his former columnist. “Now that we’ve taken a 3.5 million fine, we’ll do low-budget happenings“, also launched Cyril Hanouna, in order to play down the situation. As a reminder, this is not the first time that C8 has been fined such a large fine. A few years ago, the dissemination of a hoax deemed homophobic in the program Radio Baba, also presented by Cyril Hanouna, had pushed ARCOM to sanction the channel, by imposing a fine of 3 million euros.
