Samy Naceri reveals the cast of his first film: he will direct, among others, the grandson of Louis de Funès: here is the latest info!
After a long absence, Samy Naceri is back at the cinema but behind the camera this time! The actor, known for playing Daniel Morales in the Taxi saga, is about to make his debut as a director with a comedy called MDR which he will soon shoot in the Luberon.
In a video posted on Tik Tok (via BFMTV), Samy Naceri unveils his project – as well as the pre-poster of it. Presented as a “satirical comedy”, the feature film, in which he will also play, will also feature Chantal Ladesou, Victoria Abril, Jean-Pierre Castaldi, Jean-Marie Bigard and Stomy Bugsy and Laurent de Funès, the grandson of Louis de Funès – to name but a few.
Samy Naceri also specifies that he will publish behind-the-scenes videos of the shooting on his TikTok account every day “since it is an exceptional moment” for him, the film being his first achievement.

LOL will tell the story of a wealthy landowner who is jealous of everyone. His wife is cheating on him, they want to steal his loot and he is even buried alive. When he ascends to heaven, he meets his father there who tells him to come back down. After this Near Death Experience, he is back on earth to settle his accounts.

LAURENT IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF LOUIS?
De Funès, here is a name that we know. Today, the spotlight is on Laurent, born in 1961, the grandson of Louis de Funes and Germaine Carroyer, the latter’s first wife. If he’s no stranger to comedy himself, LOL will however be his first feature film.

Indeed, after having created his communication agency, Laurent de Funes – who has the same eyes as her grandfather – made her stage debut in 2010 after meeting Marthe Mercadier, who knew Louis de Funes, and which invites him to share family anecdotes on stage. As Gala writes, together they will play in the room mop for two years before the budding actor turned to the world of short films alongside director Eric Atlan and thus gave the reply to Michel Galabru in particular.
Besides LOL, Laurent de Funes should take the stage this year for his show called Only one on stagewhich he himself wrote and where he will discuss, among other things, the difficulties of bearing the famous name of De Funès, especially in the world of comedy.
MDR by Samy Naceri should be released on our screens in 2024.
