In the first, Louis Klamroth succeeds Frank Plasberg. The previous career of the “hard but fair” moderator at a glance.

Today, January 9, Louis Klamroth (33) succeeds Frank Plasberg (65) in the first. For the first time, the 33-year-old moderates the political talk “tough but fair”, and with former Health Minister Jens Spahn (42) and SPD leader Lars Klingbeil (44) he has political heavyweights as guests. It is the high point of Klamroth’s career, which has not been poor in high points.

Beginnings as a child star in “The Miracle of Bern”

Klamroth comes from a German show business family. He is the son of well-known actor Peter Lohmeyer (60) and camera assistant Katrin Klamroth. Already in 2001 Klamroth was in front of the camera together with his famous dad. In the comedy “Der Mistkerl” they played a father-son team – just like two years later in Sönke Wortmann’s (63) successful film “Das Wunder von Bern”.

For his role as eleven-year-old Mattes, Klamroth was even awarded the Golden Camera for “Best Young Actor” in 2004. Around 3.7 million viewers flocked to German cinemas in autumn 2003 to see the nostalgic football trip.

Louis Klamroth’s career as a political talker

Despite this remarkable success, Klamroth did not remain true to acting. After a third and last joint appearance with Peter Lohmeyer in the tragic comedy “Schenk mir dein Herz” (2010) – again they played father and son – Klamroth got involved in the organization SOS Children’s Villages in Guatemala and Haiti, studied in Amsterdam and London political science and completed an internship in the editorial office of “Günther Jauch”.

Since 2016, Klamroth has moderated the political talk “Klamroths Konter” on the news channel n-tv. Prominent politicians such as Annalena Baerbock (42) and Christian Lindner (44) have already been among his guests. Here the young presenter first attracted attention with offensive and uncomfortable questions to his guests – and in 2018 he received the German TV Award (sponsorship award) for his 20-minute show.

In the 2021 federal election campaign, Klamroth moderated the “ProSieben federal election show” on ProSieben. The then SPD chancellor candidate Olaf Scholz (64) and Green candidate Baerbock were guests in the format.

Klamroth’s relationship with Luisa Neubauer makes headlines

A month before he started at “hard but fair”, Klamroth made his relationship with climate activist Luisa Neubauer (26) public. “Because I’m with a public figure, I think the audience has a right to know that,” Klamroth explained to the media magazine “DWDL”. “Fridays for Future” activist Neubauer has often been a guest at “hart aber fair” in the past. However, under the new moderator Klamroth, she will stay away from the show in the future.
