This mother-son relationship has it all: For months, a now 70-year-old woman and her now 33-year-old son made large sums of money and thus financed a luxurious lifestyle. In addition to two luxury cars, several valuable watches and expensive jewelry were also found during a house search.
The duo got the money by trading in stolen porn and ripping off men willing to be in a relationship. The Lucerne Public Prosecutor’s Office has now charged the two with the criminal court. Both should each be behind bars for three and a half years. In addition, fines were demanded.
Pretended relationships made a lot of money
The mother and her son started with the same scam in 2016: they downloaded a porn video from a Canadian website and then sold it on relevant portals as “their own material”. According to the public prosecutor’s office, this is said to have brought in several hundred thousand francs.
The son is also said – with the support of the mother – to have presented himself to a man as a young woman. Via Whatsapp, he built up a relationship of trust with his victim, fooled him into a love affair and finally took several thousand francs from him.
And the mother is said to have carried out other criminal machinations in addition to the porn rip-off. She is accused by the public prosecutor’s office of fraudulent marriage on several occasions. In order to get to wealthy men, the woman had placed corresponding contact advertisements. Apparently that was also worth it: According to the indictment, the mother took several hundred thousand francs in this way.

The mother and her son are also accused of insurance fraud, illegal receipt of social assistance and social security benefits, seizure fraud, forgery of documents and other offenses.
