Lucibel: half-year activity up 26%

(Boursier.com) — The half-year turnover of Lucibel recorded an increase of 26% to 5.01 ME.

This good performance is explained, firstly, by the strong growth in turnover of Lucibel.le Paris, the Group’s subsidiary in charge of the cosmetics business, which recorded a 237% growth in turnover. over the half-year, at 1,672 KEUR. This very strong growth is due to the signing of international distribution agreements and the start of the operational partnership with Dior, the terms of which were previously announced.

This 26% growth in half-year revenue is also explained by the good performance of the activity of Méthodes Hallier, a subsidiary specializing in museum lighting, which increased by 21% compared to the 1st half of 2022, to 1,283 KEUR. This strong growth, which is a continuation of that of 2022 (+24%). In the first half of 2023, several significant projects were won internationally and in particular for the Museo de Arte Precolombino in Quito (Ecuador) for 166 KEUR.

For its part, the Lucibel Pro activity is down 15% in the 1st half of 2023 compared to the 1st half of 2022, in line with what was expected following the restructuring plan implemented at the end of 2022 and the repositioning of this activity towards segments with higher added value. This repositioning is proceeding according to the planned plan. In particular, several projects have been completed or are underway for the LVMH group.

The strong growth in revenue recorded in the first half of 2023 concerns the Group’s higher-margin activities (Procédés Hallier and Lucibel.le Paris). Consequently, Lucibel will announce “significant growth in its gross margin rate and a strong improvement in its operating profitability” in the first half of 2023.

Regarding the 2nd half of 2023, Lucibel anticipates continued growth in the turnover of Lucibel.le Paris compared to the 2nd half of 2022, in particular due to the ramping up of its international partners.
