The news of the death of the cabaret artist Ludger Stratmann was a shock. The WDR reacts and changes its evening program.

After the surprising death of Ludger Stratmann (1948-2021), the WDR announced that it would adjust its program. On Friday and Saturday, programs will now run late in the evening that remind of the popular cabaret artist.

Two nights at Stratmann

So on August 27th from 11:30 pm “Dem Pott sein Doktor” is on the program. “Doctor Stratmann: Around the corner from me” takes over from 00:30. And at 1:15 am it goes “To laugh in the Revier”. On Saturday evening at 10:30 pm it will continue with “15 years of ‘Stratmanns’ – The best of Jupp’s pub theater”, followed by “Dr. Ludger Stratmann Solo – Malpractice” at 11:30 pm and “Dr. Ludger Stratmann” at 1:00 am – Make yourself free, please! “, Part one and part two.

The programs actually planned for Friday and Saturday nights, such as the “Kölner Treff” or “Erlebnisreisen: Osttirol”, “The great Schlagerabend” and “The Carolin Kebekus Show” have been canceled.

Stratmann died unexpectedly on Wednesday at the age of 73. The doctor, who later became a cabaret artist, gained national recognition through numerous appearances, especially in “Stratmanns”, but also in programs such as “Mitternachtsspitzen” or “7 Tage, 7 Köpfe”.
