In mid-September she finally held her little happiness in her arms: Luisa Hartema proudly announced the birth of her daughter Paula. Now a few weeks have passed, the little family has now settled in and the ex-GNTM winner finally finds time to chat a little with her Instagram community about her new everyday life. She also provides an honest insight into the birth of her child, which subsequently resulted in traumatic experiences for the new mother.

Luisa Hartema, 28, is in seventh mommy heaven. Baby Paula has turned her life upside down. The new mom only rarely contacted her community in the past few weeks since the birth, but when she posted a photo or a story, everything revolved around her magical daughter. In a current question and answer session, she also reveals details from her everyday life with a child – and talks about the birth for the first time. She reveals that she had to struggle with serious complications.

Luisa Hartema experienced birth according to her ideas

“It actually happened relatively quickly for the first birth,” reports Luisa. But: “I was already pretty excited about the appointment and we still had the weekend, otherwise they would most likely have induced. But luckily the little one came on her own.” She doesn’t leave any further details open either: “And I had a water birth, without strong painkillers, just as I imagined and I’m incredibly grateful for it,” she reveals.

Complications after delivery

But then the situation became dicey. Reason enough for the model to issue a trigger warning to protect pregnant followers.

“Unfortunately, things didn’t continue like that after that and what I was most afraid of happened,” explains Luisa. “An operation, lots of needles and leaving Paula alone after the birth.” Apparently the placenta had not separated after the birth. Despite various attempts, in the end there was only one alternative. “Since time is limited, it was decided to remove them in the operating room. It all got a bit hectic,” remembers the 28-year-old. However, she tried to remain calm in view of the frightening developments.

“When I woke up, I thought, I’m finally with Paula and my husband. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case, I lost a lot of blood during the operation (2.5 liters) and ended up awake in the intensive care unit become.” A nightmare scenario for every mother. After that, she was only allowed to see her husband and child for a short time. “We were 8 hours straight after that Birth separated and every minute felt so long.”

“There will be a lot of tears”

The traumatic experience still concerns Luisa today. “I know it will take time to process everything properly,” she writes, “and there will still be a lot of tears, but I am full of gratitude. For Paula, for how the birth went, for everyone who was with me in the hours side.” However, she is particularly indebted to her husband. The East Frisian woman has been in a relationship with her daughter’s father for over a year, and they tied the knot in July 2023. The young mother has so far remained silent about the man she loves. Your partner obviously doesn’t want to take place in public. The main thing is that he is always by her side in her private life.
