Lvmh: Two new workshops in France for Louis Vuitton

(CercleFinance.com) – Louis Vuitton announced on Tuesday the opening of two new leather goods workshops in Vendôme and Azé, in Loir-et-Cher, two inaugurations intended to strengthen the brand’s local roots.

In Vendôme, the listed abbey which hosts the new workshop underwent a three-year restoration, including two years of work, in collaboration with the Bâtiments de France and the town of Vendôme.

A hundred employees are currently working on the site.

The second workshop, called Oratoire, is the brand’s most efficient site in terms of energy efficiency, thanks to a unique and modular bioclimatic design.

150 people work there today, before a workforce that should eventually reach 400 leatherworkers.

These two sites were inaugurated in the morning in the presence of the Minister of the Economy Bruno Le Maire.

To date, Louis Vuitton employs nearly 4,800 people in its 18 workshops in France and plans to hire 1,000 additional people in France by the end of 2024.

Two additional leather goods workshops are scheduled to open by the end of the year, one in Drôme and the other in Maine-et-Loire.
