Lyon 2000 anti-pass demonstrators in Bellecour, most of them unmasked


3:30 p.m. | This Saturday, the demonstrations against the health / vaccination pass resume after the Christmas truce, boosted by Emmanuel Macron’s comments on unvaccinated people. In Lyon, the opponents regroup in three separate processions.

The main one, at the initiative of the Lyon pour la Liberté collective, is located on Place Bellecour and brings together nearly 600 people.

. It will then join the courthouse of 24 columns. About fifty yellow vests

are currently demonstrating in Place Sathonay (1st arrondissement). The collective against “Coronafolia”, close to Florian Philippot, brings together about 180 people.

Very few masks

In Bellecour, the President of the Republic is booed and many whistles sound. Many flags also flourish among the crowd, just like signs with the “#JeNeSuisPlusUnCitoyen”, echoing the words of Emmanuel Macron who declared on Tuesday: “When my freedom comes to threaten that of others, I become irresponsible. An irresponsible person is no longer a citizen. ”

According to the estimate of our journalist present on the spot, 90% of the demonstrators do not wear a mask, despite a police presence all around the square. As a reminder, the mask is once again compulsory outdoors in Lyon for all people aged 11 and over. Failure to comply with this measure is punishable by a fine of € 135.
