A new AI tool has been developed by Google. It stimulates the creativity of rappers in writing their lyrics. So, good or bad idea for the world of music?
Explore a word from all angles
With this new online tool called TextFX, Google is part of the assistant to creativity more than the fact of chewing the work to users. Unlike ChatGPT and other tools currently on the market that use generative AI, TextFX offers a suite of tools to support the artist in writing their lyrics.
For this, TextFX invites the user to contemplate a word or expression from different angles, with the aim of finding consonances and other similarities frequently used in the rap world. For example, in the language of Shakespeare, ExpressWay wants to be close to Express Wheyphonetically speaking.
Stimulating creativity instead of replacing it
To develop this new tool, Google relies on the PaLM 2 API model. The teams in charge of the project studied the songwriting style of Lupe Fiasco, an American rapper known in the industry for his ease to handle words.
According to project collaborators, this new creation shows that AI can also hold promise for boosting human activity rather than replacing it. TextFX could well pave the way for new processes, especially in artistic fields where creativity is paramount.
