Ming-Chi Kuo has once again pulled out his crystal ball and is planning a Macbook Air size XXL within a few months.

The MacBook Air M2 is not yet available in stores and Apple is already developing a new model.

A larger MacBook Air from 2023?

The analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, well known to all attentive observers of Apple, has just published a new report on his Twitter account and details the developments to come within the MacBook Air range.

The Californian manufacturer would therefore aim to offer from 2023 to expand the range of its most popular Mac with a new MacBook Air, this time equipped with a 15-inch screen. According to the expert, Apple had originally planned a launch at the same time as the 13-inch model, but finally preferred to give up to concentrate its efforts on the model presented at the beginning of June.

Mass production of this new 15-inch MacBook could begin in the first quarter of 2022 for marketing in the second quarter. It now remains to know the technical data sheet.

An expected M2 Pro version for users looking for power

It is easy to imagine that this 15-inch MacBook Air will benefit from the same new design offered by Apple with the 13-inch model, as well as variations in several colors. Today, four models are offered by the brand in Midnight, Space Gray, Silver and Starlight shades.

This next MacBook Air, again according to Ming-Chi Kuo, could be offered in two options with an M2 or M2 Pro chip depending on the configuration chosen. This latest SoC would be introduced in a revision of the 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros at the end of the year, also with the presentation of the M2 Max chip, even more powerful for the needs of professionals or users with the means. to afford these rather (very) expensive machines.

Finally, the analyst says that the 15-inch MacBook Air M2 will come with a 35W charger versus a 67W adapter for the model with an M2 Pro chip.

On the other hand, we should not expect a 12-inch MacBook in the coming months. If the rumor has long evoked Apple’s plans for a small, more affordable laptop, the analyst indicates that he has no information in this direction from his various sources in the industry.
