Apple yesterday kicked off the public beta of macOS 14.4. The latter does not bring anything transcendent, but some new emojis are still in the game.
We didn’t have to wait long for the latest macOS beta to open to the public. Just two days after releasing the macOS 14.4 beta for developers, Apple has launched the public beta of this new version. It must be said that the latter does not contain any major functionality. In place ? The launch of new emojis… mainly.
The macOS 14.4 public beta is here
Instead, see the visual below, which brings together all the new emoticons added to our Macs with macOS 14.4. As a reminder, these have also been implemented on iPhone and iPad, through the iOS 17.4 beta.
We therefore find, in bulk, two new smileys (shake your head vertically, and shake your head horizontally), a phoenix, a lime, a brown mushroom, a chain with a broken link, but also new icons representing families, as well as only profile figures of a person walking, running, kneeling, walking with a white cane, in a wheelchair or in an electric wheelchair.
How to benefit from it?
Nothing transcendent therefore, but if you still want to take advantage of this public beta and the new emojis listed above, note that the procedure to follow is not very complicated.
All you have to do is register for the macOS beta program and then activate reception of public betas in the settings, under the General > Software Updates tab. Finally, note that the final version of macOS 14.4 should be deployed in early March.
