Since the release of macOS Monterey 12.2, some users are reporting serious battery issues on their MacBook. The latter would completely empty while the computer is on standby.

Some Apple users have the unpleasant surprise of finding their MacBook completely flat when they wake up. The problem would be related to computers running macOS Monterey, the latest version of Apple’s operating system. Some associate this bug with the installation of the latest version of macOS Monterrey, 12.2, deployed last week.
However, the problem has been going on for quite some time. It had already been noted on older versions of the OS, as evidenced by messages posted several months ago and describing the same concern. It is possible that the last update has accentuated it. Users reporting numerous alarm clocks from their Mac, as well as completely drained batteries, have been multiplying on the web for weeks, in particular on Twitter or even on Reddit.
MacBooks exhausted by Bluetooth
Some people see their MacBook go from 100% battery to 0%, even when the computer is closed and on standby, most often overnight. But what is it due to? This would in fact be caused by Bluetooth, more precisely by Bluetooth accessories (mouse, keyboard, headphones…) which would perpetually wake up the Mac and therefore drain the battery in a few hours. The concern would affect Macs with an Intel processor just as much as those with an M1 chip.
If your machine is under macOS Monterey, you can check the behavior of your battery by going to System Preferences > Drums > Usage history. If this happens to you, and pending a fix from Apple, you can simply turn off Bluetooth before putting your computer to sleep or shutting it down.
